Jaipur city is situated in Rajasthan state of India and the city is also called as Pink City. Jaipur Junction Railway station is an important rail head. Indian Railways are divided in zones and one of them is North Western Railway zone and its headquarter is Jaipur. Administrative control of this station is under North Western Railways. Earlier Jaipur Railway Station was running on metre gauge lines only but now it has been converted into broad gauge lines so it has both broad gauge and meter gauge rail lines. Travelling to Jaipur via rail is comfortable.
Many important trains stops at Jaipur Station which connects it to other major cities of India such as Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kota, Gandhinagar, Gwalior, Varanasi, Patna, Trivendrum etc. thorough broad gauge lines. All kinds of trains are available for travelling to different cities of India via Jaipur. Shaatabdi Express runs between Jaipur to Delhi and it provides a comfortable journey to the passengers and consumes less time.
Jaipur is connected with few cities of Rajasthan such as Churu, Sri Ganganagar and Sikar etc. via metre gauge lines. India’s well known and luxurious train ‘Palace of Wheels’ also stops at Jaipur Railway station.
Jaipur Railway station is best and it is the main station for going into the city but it also has other railway stations like Dahar Ka Balaji Railway Station, Bais Godam Railway Station, Durgapura Railway Station and Gandhinagar Railway Station which takes traveller into the different parts of the city.
The station has all the modern amenities. It has tourist information centre to help tourists visiting the place. Separate reservation counter has been setup for foreign tourists. Facilities of waiting room, refreshment room, retiring room, book stall, tea stall and telephone booth have been set up at the station for the travellers comfort. Computerized reservation office is also available there and ticket can also be booked online for going to Jaipur and other places of India.
Bus terminal is located near station and one can catch bus for travelling within the city or nearby cities such as Ajmer, Alwar and Jodhpur etc. and other major cities of India. Bus services of Rajasthan Roadways are well organised and it is one of the best in India. According to convinces of the passengers and as per their need one can travel into city buses, private buses, Chauffeur driven private cars and taxis, auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and in prepaid taxis.
Jaipur International Airport is situated in Sanganer town; its distance is only 13 km from the station. One can catch domestic and International flights for going to other important cities of India and to other major International locations.

Though there are many places which attract the tourists to Jaipur but few important landmarks of the city such as Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Amber Fort etc. are located within the distance of 13 km from the station.

Jaipur Metro work is under progress and in future Jaipur will also have metro station like India’s capital Delhi.
