Ajmer Junction Railway Station

Ajmer Junction Railway station is situated on the Mumbai – Ahmedabad – Jaipur – Delhi route. Most of the trains which go through this route stopped at Ajmer Railway Station. This station falls under Western Railways of India in the state of Rajasthan. Station is well connected to the several cities in India. The station is situated in the centre of the city.

Lots of trains such as super fast, express and mails runs from Ajmer to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur. The main trains which pass through the stations are The Gujarat Mail, The Jodhpur Mail and Shatabdi Express.

If someone wants to travel from New Delhi to Ajmer there is Shatabdi and Ajmer Rajdhani available for them, it runs from New Delhi 6 days a week and takes around 7 hrs.

Many far distance trains such as Ajmer – Indore Link Express, Ajmer – Bhopal Express, Ajmer – Ratlam Express, Ajmer – Amritsar Pooja Express etc. starts from this station.

For north, the main railhead is Jaipur Junction Railways station which is just 132 km away from Ajmer Railway Station and Jaipur Sanganer Airport is around132 km from here. One can easily get a taxi from the airport for Ajmer and it generally takes around two hours to reach Ajmer.

Online reservation system can be used for booking ticket for Ajmer. There is tourist information counter available at the Ajmer station. The station has the facility of auto rickshaw. For inter-city travelling one can use Tempos, cycle rickshaws, Tangas and autos.

Indian railway has identified Ajmer Railway Station for developing into World Class Station. They have planned to provide lots of facilities by building it as state-of-the-art station with the help of good architecture and want to segregate arrival /departure for travelling passengers. The station will have modern services such as currency exchange counter, food plazas, retail outlets, tourist information booth, ATM facilities, Internet Cafe, Hotels, Car rentals, prepaid taxi booth wherever it will be possible. They want to make it as an efficient working place.

Ajmer city has good transport system for locals and for tourists also. Good quality of comfortable low floor buses are available for inter city transportation. It is well connected by roads from other cities of Rajasthan and India. There are six lane expressways from Jaipur and it passes near to Ajmer. For going Ajmer one can use Luxury and Deluxe buses which is available from major cities of India.

Ajmer is a very important historical city of Rajasthan, India. It is surrounded by the lush green Aravalli hills. It was established by Ajay Pal Chauhan and initially it was known as Ajayameru which means ‘the invincible hill’.
