Information about Surat Railway Station of Gujraat
Surat Railway Station is an important railway station in Gujarat state of India. It is the 2nd biggest city in the state and the 9th largest city in India. Administrative headquarters of the Surat District is built in Surat City. It is situated on the side of Tapti River. It is famous for its textile business and it is a major gem stone centre. Though Surat Railway station is the main station which serves Surat city but there are other stations such as Uttran, Udhan Jn, Kosad, Gotahngam, Niol, Bhestan and Sachin which also serve the Surat city. Administrative control of Surat Railway station is under Western Railway zone. The station was built in 1860 on the Ahmedabad Railway Station-Vadodara-Mumbai rail route.
